  • Abstract
    This paper discusses the requirements of remote testing and maintenance for EPON. Based on the detailed analysis of related parts in IEEE 802.3-2005, the paper introduces a solution of remote testing and maintenance. The extended protocol of OAM sublayer is proposed to meet the needs of maintenance and testing.
