Abstract
The radiation characteristics of a slot antenna in a ground plane covered by a ferrite slab which is magnetized perpendicularly by a DC magnetic field are investigated. This structure has a beam steering feature controlled by a DC bias field. Fourier-transformed field representations and asymmetric coupled transmission line modeling are used to analyze this structure. Far fields are evaluated by the method of steepest descents. Numerical results show that, by such a conformal and planar antenna beam steering and beam shaping can be practically controlled by the applied DC field.<>
