Abstract :
It is known that the contrast detection threshold of a Gabor-patch is influenced by flanking colinear mask Gabor patches (Polat & Sagi, 1993, 1994). This study investigated whether this phenomenon can also be observable when mask Gabor-patches constitute a figure which does not contain the target Gabor patch to be measured the contrast detection threshold. We obtained the results that such a figural patch arrangement has little effect on contrast detection threshold in our framework.
