Estimation of car driver’s psychology and ability using driving behavior

Prevention of traffic accidents is one of the main issues in car-oriented societies. In this paper, we aim at a fundamental solution for decreasing car accidents. For this purpose, models for the evaluation of a driver´s ability and a database of handling ability are proposed. Methodologies of construction of the model and database using a driving simulator are discussed. Through results of the experiments performed with five participants, the validity of the proposed methods has been confirmed.
