            Abstract :
The failure possibility of pipeline is an important aspect affecting the size of the pipeline risk, so the failure possibility analysis of buried pipeline is necessary. Firstly, the status of buried pipeline failure analysis is analyzed. Then the risk-based inspection and its qualitative, semi-quantitative and quantitative analysis method are introduced. The semi-quantitative RBI method, which is applied to analyze the failure possibility of the buried gas pipeline, is introduced in detail with an example of urban buried gas pipeline.
