Abstract :
Extensive work has been performed to demonstrate the feasibility of adaptive feed compensation on space communication antenna systems. The authors address the system requirements for such a system and identify candidate technologies (analog and digital) for possible hardware implementation. The system requirements for implementing electromagnetic compensation are derived by considering the ACTS (Advanced Communication Technology Satellite) multibeam antenna system configuration and a 19-element phased array feed.<>
