Abstract :
Spatial data increase the possibility of extracting relevant facts from available information. However, the development of systems that support them requires specific procedures and methods to adapt conventional approaches to their particularities. This article presents a methodology for developing such systems in a web environment, consisting of a development process based on the Unified Process and concepts of spatial data warehouses, a multi-layer software architectural framework and a set of Java Application Program Interfaces (API) that establishes interfaces to support the use of techniques for treatment, analysis and mining of spatial data.
