Abstract :
This paper presents the design and the experimental verification of a compact and broadband interconnect, based on the ridge waveguide implemented in substrate integrated waveguide technology. The proposed structure exhibits a mono-modal bandwidth three times broader than classical rectangular waveguides or substrate integrated waveguides, and their size is just half of a substrate integrated waveguide with the same cutoff frequency. An experimental prototype, covering the frequency band from 6.8 GHz to 25 GHz, is also presented.
