Abstract :
A digital polar transmitter for MB-OFDM ultra-wideband using a new architecture based on phase wrapping for digital phase modulator (DPM) is proposed. It exploits open-loop and multiplexed, multi-phase clocks (OMMC) for phase-modulating and a digital power amplifier (DPA) for amplitude-modulating wideband RF signal. We have studied its performance and provided the results for critical design parameters related to the polar resolutions for DPM and DPA operating up to 480 Mbps MB-OFDM Ultra-Wideband channels. In addition, the delay mismatch between the phase and amplitude paths in this digital polar transmitter has been evaluated.
