Abstract :
The power distribution and utilization in a typical industry is compared to that of a hypothetical system using newly discovered high-temperature superconductors. Brief discussions of various machines with superconductors at ambient temperatures, based on developments made so far on large superconducting machines, for potential industrial applications, are included.<>
