Abstract :
The practical engineering systems mainly used nonlinear systems, but its controller is complex. The ball-beam system not only has the typical features of nonlinear systems, but also relatively simple. By analyzing and modeling the ball-beam system, its characteristics and components, a PID controller is designed in Simulink applying the Ziegler-Nichols 2nd method. Through observing the experimental results the design is verified, to be a smooth and effective controller.
