Abstract :
This paper explains the processes of developing a sweep signal generator from a computer program. The main idea of this project is to eliminate the current limitations of existing sweep signal generator, which are expensive, high maintenance, big, heavy and not portable. This program is operated from a personal computer, thus making it possible to be portable equipment that suits the engineering needs. Methods to accomplish the project are divided into two phases: software development and hardware development. Software development will focus on creating a simulation program that will generate the desired signal with implementation of Guided User Interface (GUI). For probe (hardware) development, focus will be on linking the software and hardware through USB port and sound card.
