Abstract :
This paper presents a performance analysis of the sample matrix inversion (SMI) adaptive beamforming algorithm for spatial interference rejection by smart antenna systems. A simulation tool which implements the SMI algorithm is developed along with a graphical user interface. Performance of the SMI beamformer is investigated with respect to the variation of a number of parameters related to the signal environment and sensor array. Results of numerical simulation are used to design smart antennas systems with optimal performance
