Abstract
The authors report the design and experimental data of a prototype of an optically controlled uniplanar active integrated antenna array. The active antenna circuit consists of two negative-resistance oscillators with two slots. As the transmission line, the CPW (coplanar waveguide) is used to realize the uniplanar active antenna array. The tuning of operating frequencies was carried out by illumination. Measured antenna patterns are presented. An optical tuning range of 70 MHz around 8.8 GHz was obtained.<>
