H-EtICT-8 (Health Education Through ICT for K-8):Stop Aids Now!

Modern societies are in danger of HIV/AIDS, the plague of the century. HIV/AIDS can not be recovered via current medical cures. The most effective prevention of the disease is early health education about HIV/AIDS. In this context, learning environments supported with information and communication technologies should be used. In order to make young people more conscious, it is important to educate them about HIV/AIDS disease and protection ways from the HIV/AIDS with learning environments supported by audio-visual components along with a variety of methods and contents. This study basically concentrates on an educational software environment -a tutorial-prepared for training students in Turkey on HIV/AIDS and prevention ways. It is aimed to train K-8 students and make them well-informed about the HIV/AIDS infection and prevention ways with the tutorial, hence, diminish the possibilities of getting sick.
