Abstract :
Energy is indubitably identified as the single most important resource in battery-powered wireless sensor networks (WSNs). A comprehensive measurement of the energy consumption is important to accurately determine the lifetime of WSNs. In this work, we measure and analyze the energy consumption in the network based on time distribution of nodes´ states. We then propose to use node´s residual energy in a probability function from our previous work that could control the energy drain in a forwarding node. Simulation results are presented to evaluate the energy consumption and lifetime of the network.
