Abstract :
In order to prevent sudden cardiac death (SCD) it is crucial to precisely identity increased risk for serious ventricular tachyarrhythmias. The aim of this study was to develop a new prognostic method, based on the non linear analysis of ECG signals, and evaluate its role as a marker of sudden cardiac death. In this paper we present the results obtained in fifty patients, by this novel method that show a high predictive value, together with an extremely low cost, in comparison with the invasive technique based on controlled endocavitary ventricular stimulation.
