Abstract :
The multi-agent system is the subject of a stream of research within distributed artificial intelligence. For achieving a solution to a certain global problem, each agent has its own local goal to be fulfilled. When working on a shared goal each agent would like its priorities to be given the most consideration. Unfortunately, many agents´ priorities (arising from their own personal goals) will not be coherent with their fellow agents´, thus leading to the conflict problem. This paper presents a formal and executable approach to resolve conflict in multi-agent systems by negotiation and arbitrage. We give the definition of agent, action, environment, negotiation process in formalization. Negotiation and arbitrage strategies of conflict resolution are also presented. Agents can arrive at good solutions by using the above strategies.
