Abstract
This paper presents an overview of outsourcing as a means of performing tasks beyond, the scope of the permanent core staff of your organization, by having a wide variety of companies at your disposal to work with you, supplying their specific expertise on a job-by-job or project-by-project basis. This allows your company to stay focused and have the freedom to operate and maintain specialized business pursuits without carrying the heavy burden of large overhead during downturns in the business cycle. The paper concludes with a specific example of a lesser known application in outsourcing with respect to heavy engineering
