Integrated ticketing smart cards in transport

This paper offers a view on the issues associated with the further expansion of ITS and in particular the smart card into the transport sector. Some suggestions as to how the cards could be, and are being used for both payment, information and customer loyalty are presented. The emphasis is on payment, and the article discusses the technology (interfaces, memory, reliability etc.). Methods for the transfer of funds are discussed
