Abstract :
A two-layer planar spatial power divider/combiner is proposed. It employs two dielectric substrates with a common ground plane. Two transitions are cascaded to divide power equally. The first transition is from a parallel stripline to two microstrip lines and the second transition is from oversized microstrip line to parallel multiport microstrip lines. A line taper is inserted to provide impedance match. The proposed structure is compact and has little possibility to stimulate high-order modes wave. A working prototype realizing 1-to-8 power dividing/combing at 4~6 GHz is designed and fabricated. Measured results show a good agreement with simulated ones and an input reflection coefficient of less than -15 dB is achieved.
