Abstract :
The primary aim of this paper is to illustrate the Semantic Analysis Method (SAM). Semantic Analysis is a technique which helps to elicit user´s domain concepts and terminology and deliver it as ontology charts. While ontology charts are embodied a database design, they exhibit an important property; they are SNF-compliant. Semantic Normal Form (SNF) compliancy is correlated with many software quality features, such as immunity to malignant changes, bi-temporal support and multi-lingual facility. The approach adopted in this report is case-based approach. As a result, the funding model of Higher Education Funding Council for England (HEFCE) is chosen to apply Semantic analysis and produce related ontology charts. To demonstrate the strength of SNF- Compliant model, a comparison between SNF and Non-SNF compliant models is brought to discussion.
