Abstract :
In this paper the basic principles and influenced factors of Direct Methanol Fuel cells(DMFC) are analyzed.To active DMFC as the research object, the DMFC control system is designed based on MSP430 microcontroller. By controlling the concentration of methanol,the temperature of DMFC stack operating and the speed of anode and cathode feeding into the system, high performance and high fuel efficiency can be achieved.Aiming at the disadvantages of DMFC responding slowly when it starts and load changes suddenly, the system adopt hybrid power models of the DMFC and battery. DMFC can make changes to the power distribution of battery depending on the load requirements by control the off time of battery,so as to improve system efficiency and extend system life. Experimental results show that the running of the control system is safe and reliable.
