Abstract
A non-planar monopole antenna with orthogonal tapered rectangle, oblique shorted pins and loaded circular disc is investigated experimentally and numerically. The proposed antenna possesses more than 17:1 impedance bandwidth within the -10dB return loss bandwidth by using a coaxial fed, and an omn-idirectional radiation pattern is obtained. The antenna has low profile and small size, which made it is very suitable for indoor base station applications and ultra-wide bandwidth (UWB) base station communications.
