  • Abstract
The thermal depolarization of amorphous PET (polyethylene terephthalate) electrets metallized on one side and corona charged at Tp>70°C exhibits, between 20°C and 105°C, three relaxations: α, ρ1 and ρ2 . The origin of ρ2 is free charge injected from the electrodes, while ρ1 could be associated with a uniform bulk mechanism. The p1 peak has a been located in electrets metallized on both sides and polarized, between 73°C and 79°C, only in the isothermic phase, so that at Tp>79°C it overlaps with ρ. The stimulated crystallization by thermal steps in amorphous PET samples, metallized on both sides, indicates that ρ1 changes with the crystallinity and becomes the αc relaxation of the crystalline PET
