Abstract
CI-RXLEV-E is a cell identifier (CI) based method which could be applied for location based services (LBS). In our previous work, it has been proved as the most accurate method which utilizes the information of measurement report (MR) and cell configuration database (CCD) to locate UE. In this paper, we suggest an empirical criterion to estimate the position error size of calculation results for this algorithm. It´s called maximal probability of position error (MPPE) criterion and provides a new thought of the accuracy enhancement for CI based method. With the classification of estimation results, high accurate positions calculated by the algorithm could be saved for further applications, and inaccurate ones could be focused on for continual improvement or abandon.
