Abstract :
A novel hybrid power storage topology based on modular multi-level converter (MMC) is proposed in this paper. The topology is highly modularized and embedded voltage equalization for power storage cells is realized. The hybrid power storage system based on proposed topology was built using super capacitors and batteries. Corresponding power dividing strategy is proposed to improve working conditions of batteries and to extend their lifetime. Experiments are implemented to verify the performance of the proposed topology and the control algorithm.
