Abstract :
In this world of competitive market, industries are producing variety of products as per the customer requirement. They are bound to produce the same in low cost, shorter delivery time and without detriment to quality. To mitigate these, industries are segregating and/or designing different products and processes involved in manufacturing processes to shorten lead time along-with their respective operations. Long changeovers reduce operational flexibility and make process less responsive to changes which may directly affect production as well as profit. This research is giving more emphasis on reducing non value added activities by implementing new designed method on production processes based on SMED technique. Successful implementation of this research and quick changeover is the key to a competitive advantage to any kind of industry.
