Abstract :
A multichannel numerical system for the measurement of partial discharges (PDs) has been developed in order to improve the ability to identify PD sources and to seek novel criteria for PD harmfulness. This numerical partial discharge analysis system, which associates real-time acquisition and offline processing of results, allows a more refined identification of discharge sources and provide access to harmfulness criteria through numerical calculations on the recorded data. This system is being used during the testing of the following equipment or large-scale representative models: large alternators, HV and MV switchgear, transformers, and onboard power electronic systems
