Abstract
Ad hoc network is one of the most common application areas of CR technology. This paper presented the design, implementation, and analysis of a novel pre-active Cognitive multi-channel routing protocol that utilizes multiple channels in mobile ad-hoc networks. A new node burden based metric is proposed to evaluate the effectiveness of candidate routes and a new channel switch metric is extended to solve the channel frequent switch problem in this mechanism. For evaluation, simulation is carried out to show the performance of our route protocol. The simulation results illustrate that the proposed route protocol perform well in both single-hop and multi-hop ad hoc networks.
