Abstract
This paper presents the validation and evaluation process for AIM project. AIM project is developing an architecture to offer a harmonized technology for managing in real time the energy consumption of appliances at home, interworking this information to communication devices over the home network and virtualizing it with the final aim of making it available to users through home communication networks in the form of standalone or network operator services. To evaluate the efficiency of the AIM architecture to reduce energy waste in comparison to the energy consumed today in conventional households, AIM proposes a two phases´ process, first using an existent virtual home environment testbed and then three real households where AIM appliances and platform will be installed. The validation of the architecture´s functionality will be performed through three usecases.
