Abstract :
In this paper we analyze the distortion due to third order nonlinearity of analog components in WCDMA mobile receivers. The distortion is primarily due to third order inter-modulation and cross modulation products between interferers. We discuss all the 3GPP receiver (RX) scenarios, which introduce signal distortion due to third order nonlinearity of analog components. We propose a theoretical model for the interference signal and then analyze the distortion for the scenarios where the distortion also depends upon the number of physical WCDMA channels in the interferer signal. Existing published work has derived closed form equations for the dependence of distortion noise on power of interferers and third order nonlinearity. In this paper we go one step further and derive closed form equation for these distortions as a function of the interferer power, third order nonlinearity, and the number of WCDMA channels in the interferer signal. This is also verified against measured data
