Abstract :
In the article an original technique to compute an impulse response and a step response of analog filters is presented. The technique is based on a symbolic derivation of all formulas using MATLABreg symbolic toolbox. A general transfer function of the analog filter is divided into the first and second-order sections and time-domain equations are derived for each section separately. A total time-domain response is obtained using a linear convolution and a numerical integration by means of a digital filter
