Abstract :
Aging tests were conducted using high-density polyethylene (HDPE) films subjected to hydrostatic pressure (1-300 bar). Breakdown-field-breakdown-time characteristics were obtained for a temperature of 70°C. It was found that the pressure effect leads to better electrical behavior for this insulation. From the electrical point of view, this insulator could be envisaged for the manufacture of DC power submarine cables
