Abstract :
The modeling and visualization for multi-scale 3D geology are challenging tasks, and are also the international research topics in the scientific research institutes, the engineering geology and mineral exploration consultancy service enterprises. Constructing method of 3D model can be divided into surface modeling method and solid modeling method, and its core is data structure. The geological object representation based on octree subdivision algorithm meets the demands of multi-scale data organization and geological body and multi-scale partitioning of property, at the same time, establishes the connections among various geological objects with space voxel, and lays the foundation for spatial analysis. Multi-level volume element coding based on Morton coding has established an association between space and property, so as to lay the foundation for the multi-dimensional analysis.
