  • Abstract
Current injection is not generally recognized as a conductance test on its own. However, it is suggested that it is valuable as part of an overall test program. It is claimed that many difficulties and problems, even fires, are developed by poor joints, splices, terminations, etc., because in practice they have poor conductance either when installed, or later developed. A conductance test is recommended especially in contaminated or corrosive environments, for both acceptance and periodic maintenance tests. Suggestions are made concerning the application of current injection for conductance testing
