Abstract :
The pervasiveness of the mobile phone culture in informal economies in underdeveloped countries, as well as in immigrant communities in developed countries even in areas devoid of electricity and computers has been a motivation for the development of two mobile phone applications presented in our paper. The first is an account book application based on goal oriented accounting and the second is a calorie intake monitoring application. We also present our ideology of developing Mobile Phone Template applications and transforming them into other application domains to gain language and regional independence. Our applications have been tested on low end mobile phones.
