Abstract :
Consideration is given to the effect of fibrous fillers on dielectric properties and the role played by the interface in polymer composites. Physical properties of composites can be described in terms of series or parallel coupling or on the basis of structure and composite geometry. Some results obtained on polypropylene composites reinforced with short glass fibers are discussed. Measurement of the dielectric constant, electric conductivity, and polarization shows that product behavior is predominant in short-glass-fiber-reinforced polypropylene
