Abstract :
The results of electrical endurance studies on two distinct insulation systems are presented. The voltage endurance characteristics of polyester and polyesterimide wire varnish systems under AC and DC voltages are examined. The long-term electrical aging effect on the electrical properties of epoxy resin samples with metal chelates is considered. For the wire varnish systems, aging under DC voltage is much slower than that for AC. The long-term electrical aging of epoxy resin formulations with metal chelates has resulted in optimization of the percentage of cobalt acetyl acetonate to be added to the anhydrous epoxy resin for ensuring reliable performance
