Abstract :
The use of a microprocessor as controllers in AC drives and systems is now of intense interest. Nevertheless, a study on the microprocessor performance used in such a system revealed that only a fraction of the total processor capability is being used to generate the required PWM pattern. The performance of the microprocessor was carefully monitored to establish how many inverters could be pulse width modulated from a single board. Finally, the possibility of incorporating more control task is also investigated
