Abstract :
Twenty-eight University students participated in the experiment on speech perception. The typical McGurk Effects were observed in consonant, vowel and word perception. In addition to consonant condition which had been observed in previous studies, cross-cultural differences can also be found in vowel perception. If the temporal discrepancies between auditory and visual information are large, the McGurk effects decreased.
