Abstract :
Relaying in mobile wireless networks is known as an appropriate solution for a large number of network planning problems. However, in a number of relaying cases, mobile stations (MS´s) have a limited forwarding capability and each MS can participate in a limited number of connections. When MS´s have a limited forwarding capability a number of routes may be blocked. Path blocking causes significant reduction in the success ratio of the routing algorithms. In this paper, the concept of limited forwarding capability and its effect on the performance of relaying is studied through simulations. In this regard, different metrics that may be used in the routing process are studied through simulations. Different routing solutions, based on rerouting and nodes´ degree, are proposed. Simulation results show that the proposed methods can improve the performance of the network.
