Abstract
Scales are the part of the fish with which it contacts the outside world. A study of the electret properties of these scales can supply information relative to the analysis of physiological phenomena of fish. In view of this, carp scales were investigated by means of thermoanalytical techniques, optical absorption spectroscopy, and small angle X-ray diffraction. It is found that if the scales are turned upside down, the current peaks change direction. It is also found that scales show strong polarization storage, which is recoverable
