Abstract :
This paper presents the design oriented analysis of the digitally controlled DC-DC power converter with very high switching frequency. Since the voltage controlled oscillator (VCO) is used as an analog to digital signal converter in the digital control circuit, the switching frequency is easily increased above 100 Hz. The upper and lower limits of the input voltage and load current as regulation ranges of the output voltage, adjustability of the output voltage in the constant voltage regulated mode and load current at the switchover point of the constant voltage regulated and overcurrent limited modes, and so forth are examined theoretically and experimentally
