Abstract
The authors point out that the main advantage of the proposed multilevel placement algorithm ML-Germinal is a high convergence speed. It is based solely on the Dynamic Clouds Method. When compared with TimberWolfSC-4.2, the method improves the wiring cost by 18% and decreases the CPU time by a factor of 36 to 108 times. A second version yields wiring costs smaller than TimberWolf by 21%
