Abstract :
PanoVIX-Mini is a tiny and compact, multi-sensor based panoramic camera system that can create 360deg panoramic images from 4 individual CMOS camera images in real time. Conventional omni-directional cameras, typically composed of a bowl-shaped mirror and a single camera, are relatively expensive, not small and compact, and provide panoramic images of low resolution and poor quality. Also other multi-sensor based panoramic cameras are too expensive and relatively too big to be mounted on mobile robots, causing significant reduction of effectiveness. However, PanoVIX-Mini resolves these problems nicely.
