Abstract :
We present a class of optical networks attack, referred to as jamming attacks, in which an adversary malicious or inherent throughout the network jams signals to disrupt lightpaths. Our work is inspired in for routing that avoid jamming attacks and we propose a new heuristic for the design of optical networks to mitigate jamming attacks. We develop, evaluate, and compare the heuristic with traditional Shortest Path Routing. The results suggest that jamming is easy to attack optical networks but hard to defend.
