Abstract
Instrumentation for the measurement of discharge parameters of different devices under test has been developed and tested. It is based on a high-sensitivity high-accuracy detector that uses a combination of analog and digital signal processing. The system is able to detect, measure and store in a large-size memory the apparent charge of every single pulse, the corresponding value of the applied voltage and the time instant at which it occurs. This procedure has been found to be applicable for statistical evaluations of the PD (partial-discharge) process, especially if the determination of the discharge pulse energy and distribution is required.<>
