  • Abstract
The paper presents a device that is capable to compute retina channels in video real-time. The CNN-UM (cellular neural network universal machine) and DSP (digital signal processor) chips are utilized to compute our novel retina model. The model is based on actual neurobiological mammalian retina measurements. The device is capable to compute four retina channels in video real time. On-line control is provided by MIDI faders and by an accelerometer. The system is designed to explore and understand the essence of the retina channels.
