Abstract
As an essential aspect of technology management, technology selection is a multilevel decision making problem, including the tactical level decision making, and the strategic level decision making. When making the strategic level decision, the enterprise must carry on the basic location of technology selection, which includes three aspects: the market location, the technology location and the industry location. Technology roadmap typically provides a time-directed representation of relationships among technologies, products and markets. So it can help enterprises to make the right market location, technology location and industry location, and its value for technology selection has become widely recognized. In this paper, the concept of technology roadmap is introduced. On this basis, the impact of technology roadmap on technology selection is analyzed. Specially, this paper explores how to design and draw technology roadmap orienting to technology selection, and gives the designing process and concrete drawing process of technology roadmap. These processes will help the prospective users design technology roadmap for technology selection.
